LowProfileBaggageScales
The 1" High Ultra Slim Line — flush-mount weighing that eliminates lifting entirely.
One Inch High. Zero Lifting Required.
Traditional airline baggage scales sit inside raised bagwells — recessed compartments in the ticket counter where passengers lift bags onto an elevated weighing platform. The Ultra Slim Line series eliminates this entirely.
At just one inch of total height, the Ultra Slim Line low-profile baggage scale mounts flush with the surrounding floor surface. Passengers roll bags directly onto the weighing platform without lifting. For airports, this means faster throughput, reduced injury risk, improved ADA compliance, and a modern aesthetic that eliminates the bulky bagwell infrastructure of legacy check-in counters.
Division Weigh To Go!® developed the Ultra Slim Line specifically for airports modernizing their ticketing lobbies. Whether you're building a new terminal or retrofitting an existing check-in area, the 1" high platform integrates seamlessly into the floor plan — replacing traditional raised scales with a solution that passengers can use intuitively, without instruction.
Like all Division scales, the Ultra Slim Line is NTEP certified for legal-for-trade accuracy. The low profile doesn't compromise measurement precision — it simply changes how the bag reaches the platform.

Engineering a 1-Inch Scale
Building an accurate, durable weighing platform at one inch of height is an engineering challenge. Load cells, mounting hardware, and the platform itself must all fit within that envelope while maintaining the same accuracy and durability standards as our full-height counter scales.
Flush-Mount Installation
The Ultra Slim Line platform installs into a shallow recess in the floor, sitting flush with the surrounding surface. The result is a flat, continuous surface that passengers walk across and roll bags onto naturally. Front and rear ramps are available for installations where a perfectly flush mount isn't possible, ensuring universal accessibility regardless of floor conditions.
Platform Construction
The weighing surface is constructed from heavy-gauge stainless steel with a textured, non-slip finish. The platform must support not just the weight of the bag but the impact force of bags being rolled, dropped, and dragged across it — continuously, across thousands of transactions per day. Sealed load cells are rated for the full capacity range without drift, even in the compressed 1-inch envelope.
Custom Sizing
Every Ultra Slim Line scale is custom-fabricated to match the specific dimensions and layout requirements of the installation site. We work with airport architects and general contractors during the design phase to ensure the floor recess, power routing, and data cabling are specified correctly before fabrication begins. Platform sizes are available to match any counter configuration — from single-position check-in to full lobby-wide deployments.

Operational Benefits
Faster Throughput
Removing the lifting step from the check-in process saves 5-10 seconds per transaction. Across hundreds of passengers per shift, per position, that time savings compounds into meaningful reductions in queue length and processing time. Passengers spend less time at the counter, and agents process more travelers per hour.
Reduced Injury Risk
Lifting heavy luggage onto raised bagwell scales is a common source of passenger injuries and airline liability claims. The Ultra Slim Line eliminates this risk entirely. Passengers roll bags onto the platform at floor level — no bending, no lifting, no strain. This is particularly valuable for ADA compliance and for airports serving a high proportion of elderly or mobility-impaired travelers.
Modern Terminal Aesthetics
New terminal designs increasingly favor clean, open check-in areas without the visual clutter of traditional counter furniture. The flush-mount Ultra Slim Line supports this design direction — the scale is effectively invisible when not in use, integrated into the floor surface rather than protruding from a counter. Airlines and airports investing in terminal renovations consistently specify low-profile scales as part of the modernization.
Simplified Maintenance
With no bagwell cavity to collect debris, no raised edges to trap cleaning materials, and no moving parts above floor level, the Ultra Slim Line reduces the maintenance burden compared to traditional bagwell-mounted scales. The sealed platform and load cell assembly are accessible from below for calibration and service without disrupting the check-in area.
