TicketCounterScales

Purpose-built weighing systems for airline ticket counter operations.

The Backbone of Airline Check-In

The airline ticket counter remains the primary point of contact between passengers and the airline's baggage handling system. Every checked bag crosses a ticket counter scale — the weighing platform built into or placed beside the agent's workstation where luggage is weighed, tagged, and sent into the baggage handling system.

Division Weigh To Go!® has been manufacturing ticket counter scales since 1988. Our scales are installed in airports across the United States and internationally, serving airlines from the world's largest carriers to regional operators. We build scales specifically for the aviation environment — not repurposed industrial or retail equipment, but purpose-engineered weighing systems designed for the unique demands of airline ticket counter operations.

A ticket counter scale operates in one of the most demanding environments in commercial weighing. It runs 16 to 24 hours a day, processes hundreds of bags per shift, absorbs the impact of luggage being dropped and dragged across its surface, and must maintain legal-for-trade accuracy through all of it. NTEP certification isn't a feature — it's the minimum requirement for any scale determining baggage fees in the United States.

Counter Integration

Ticket counter scales mount within the counter's bagwell — the recessed area where passengers place luggage. Division scales are custom-sized to match the bagwell dimensions of your specific counter furniture, whether it's a retrofit of existing counters or a new terminal build. Platform sizes range from 14" × 14" to 30" × 36", with larger custom sizes available for oversized baggage positions.

Dual Display Systems

Every ticket counter installation includes both agent-facing and passenger-facing displays. The agent display integrates with the airline's Departure Control System, showing weight data at the workstation. The passenger display provides transparency — the traveler sees the same weight reading the agent sees, reducing disputes and building trust in the measurement. Displays are available in high-visibility LED and LCD formats with adjustable brightness.

DCS and CUTE Integration

Weight data from Division ticket counter scales transmits directly to the airline's DCS through standard RS-232, USB, or network protocols. For airports using Common Use Terminal Equipment (CUTE), our scales integrate with the shared platform infrastructure, allowing multiple airlines to use the same counter position and scale without reconfiguration. We provide integration documentation and testing support for all major DCS platforms.

Construction

Heavy-gauge stainless steel platforms withstand years of continuous use. Sealed load cells resist moisture, cleaning chemicals, and particulate intrusion. The platform is engineered to absorb impact loading from dropped luggage without losing calibration or damaging internal sensors. Capacities from 100 lb to 200 lb standard, with higher-capacity options for special handling positions.

Why Airlines Choose Division

Airlines don't choose ticket counter scales based on specifications alone. They choose based on reliability, support, and the total cost of ownership over the life of the equipment.

Custom engineering: Every Division ticket counter scale is built to the specific dimensions and requirements of your counter layout. We don't force standard sizes into non-standard spaces — we fabricate to fit. Our engineering team works directly with airport architects, airline station managers, and general contractors during both new construction and retrofit projects.

Made in the USA: Every scale is manufactured domestically, which means shorter lead times, easier coordination on custom specifications, and direct access to our engineering and support teams. We don't import components and rebadge them — we build the complete weighing system in-house.

35+ years of aviation experience: Division has been building scales exclusively for the aviation and hospitality industries since 1988. We understand the operational environment, the regulatory requirements, and the integration challenges because it's all we do. When you call with a question, you're talking to people who know airports — not a general-purpose scale company with aviation as a side market.
